Review: Pasta Sauce By Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman

On any given Saturday morning you can find me watching The Food Network.  And I love me some Pioneer Woman.  Her home, to die for!  I already wanted to take a trip just to visit her store/restaurant.  And now she has a bed and breakfast?!  On my bucket list!

So, I was super excited to receive this voxbox (my very first one) from Influenster.  Let me tell it she personally picked me to receive it.  Cause, we cool like that.  While I had already planned on making spaghetti this week for my family, this special surprise allowed me to make a healthier option for myself.  So, inspired by Pinterest (of course) I decided to use my sauce for a spaghetti squash bake

Disclaimer, I’m no food blogger.  In other words, don’t judge my pictures!  But, this was worth sharing!

 

If you’ve never cooked a spaghetti squash before it’s super easy.   I learned from, you guessed it, Pinterest.  You can do it in a microwave but I prefer the oven.  You just cut it in half.

Scoop the seeds out.  Brush it with olive oil and season it with salt and pepper.

Then, put it in the oven skin side up.  I put mine on 450 for about an hour. Some recipes call for 400.   Just keep an eye on it.  It will really depend on the size of your squash.

 

Then, use a fork to pull out your spaghetti noodles.

I tossed mine with more olive oil, salt and pepper.  Then, I added the pasta sauce.  Sprinkled a little cheese on top and then baked it again on 350.  Here’s the finished product with scallions on top (Because I just feel Ree would have something green on top).

Now let’s talk about this sauce! The sauce is chunky and flavorful!  When I took a taste test all I could say was “That’s Good!”  I will be trying all the flavors.  Not that I’m surprised  Everything my girl makes looks delicious on TV.  Now, we have the pleasure of tasting it for ourselves.  Another added bonus is that the side of the jar doubles as a measuring cup.  As you pour you know exactly how much sauce you have used and how much you have left.  Genius! She has thought about everything!  I highly recommend you try the new Pioneer Woman pasta sauces.  You won’t be disappointed!
